2014 Highlights

Ray checks off a bucket list top pick - Beautiful Pebble Beach with a round and a half of great golf for his 60th birthday.  We added SF, Napa & Santa Barbara to the drive and had a lot of fun as friends joined us along the way.   We surprised him two weeks later, flying in Max to have another special golf birthday weekend.  It is such a pleasure watching the three of them on the course picking on each other.  I am the happiest non-playing, picture taking, foursome observer.

GE sells the Sensing Division to Amphenol and Ray continues to lead the plant under new ownership through challenging but continued growth. It will be another very busy year for him.

I was very fortunate to travel to Paris with my good friend Louise last spring to visit my cousins Michel and Marie-Dominique and also to Belgium to visit Louise’s sister Michelle and husband Serge.  It was a spectacular trip, which I’ll treasure forever as the pictures will show.  The drive to the Nord-Pas-de Calais region in northern France was amazing.  Michel and I are 10th generation French Canadians.  We visited towns and stepped inside churches 11 generations past once had.  Thank goodness for the courage of JP Robitaille and two other brothers who left in 1665 for the new world. They arrived in Quebec City in 1667.

In the fall, I made it back home to Ontario, balancing time between Windsor and Toronto. It was short, but a very special time with family.  Everyone is well, but just recently Dad had a fall.  Luckily nothing broken.  It is likely another small stroke caused it.  He is less stable getting around but well taken care of at the nursing facility with Debbie’s careful oversight.  He still cannot communicate.

I will add more about the kids and grandkids soon.  Hopefully the pics on our new years greeting card gave you a pretty good idea of how fabulous our time together was this Christmas.  They are doing very well.

Throughout the year, we were very grateful for the special times we shared with family and dear friends and look forward to making many more fond memories in 2015.  xoxo
